Joerg Sommer

Joerg Sommer trained for over eight years with eminent practitioners of Shiatsu in his native Switzerland and is a member of the Governing Body of the Shiatsu Society in Switzerland and now in England, too. Joerg is also a qualified Reiki practitioner.

Joerg had worked for many years in engineering in Switzerland, before making the great change to bring his Shiatsu practice to the North of England.

Sheelagh Dale

Sheelagh studied textile design and marketing, working in her early career as a fabric designer, product technologist and finally as national sales manager for a contract flooring company. The wide travel and long hours driving caused neck, shoulder and back problems. Being diagnosed with asthma posed additional difficulties. Having received conventional medicine for many years with marginal results, she was encouraged by friends to investigate her problems and commence her own healing journey.

Complementary therapies in the form of Homeopathy, Healing, Reiki and Bowen made life pain free and normal again. Also the effects suffered with asthma have not been experienced for many years. These results were so impressive that Sheelagh wanted to know more about the wider benefits of complementary therapies and since 1993 has trained to become a Reiki Master in both Usui and Karuna Reiki and a practitioner in The Bowen Technique.

Helen Clare Atkin LL.B Hons. LPC Dip.

Like many healers, Helen became fascinated by healing when she received healing herself. She was surprised that it worked so well, and she was told by the healer that with development, she too had the ability to heal. She started practising with friends and studying. Helen is studying Therapeutic Touch, Energy Healing and Spiritual Healing methods. She dowses with a pendulum to detect energy imbalance then places her hands on to or near any areas that need healing. Helen is also studying Reflexology, Aromatherapy and uses Hopi Ear Candles and Usui Reiki to complement her other work. Previously Helen graduated in law from Warwick University and The College of Law. She then worked for an injury claims department for 10 years.

Healing

There are fields of energy in and around us which when accessed can accelerate the healing process and promote peace and wellbeing on all levels. A healer can access some of these fields and effectively lend this to the person being treated, acting as a sort of catalyst. The healer basically tunes into the energy vibration that the person requires and this causes a resonance between them, which facilitates healing. We are healing all the time naturally but with the stresses and strains of modern living we sometimes need an extra boost.

You may experience warm, cold, tingling or bubbling sensations during your session. Occasionally emotions may rise to the surface where they are released. A few are not aware of any sensations in particular. Everyone is different. You should feel very relaxed during the session which will help restore balance and leave you feeling lighter and brighter.

We are more than a body and mind. We have an energetic link, energy field or spirit that exists outside time and space. It connects us to each other and to our planet. Our thoughts and intentions affect the physical world around us. There is no separation, only the illusion of separation.

Rosie Jowett

Rosie recently joined the practice, to provide additional treatments and enhance the centre’s profile in assisting ‘well-being’.

Rosie studied and qualified locally and now offers Swedish Massage which can include the back, legs, feet, hands, scalp or full body; she also offers Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Hot Stone Therapy and Ear Candling. All these treatments relax and rebalance the body in different ways. They are performed in a gentle manner, leaving you relaxed, soothed and more able to cope with the stresses of daily life.
